DAY 1 Yes indeed de Stena Line F18 Worlds 2005 are on Day one. It’s a beautiful day on the beach of Hoek van Holland as you can see on the webcam. Still this morning boats are arriving on the beach. Around noon the first cats will hit the waves for practice race. This is to test he equipment and for the sailors to get to know the water. Huh you will say. How can you get to know the water? Well the shore line in Hoek van Holland has a lot of shallows and a lot off current. For safety reasons it is good to know where you can sail without hitting the ground. The practice race is good a moment to see what the competitors do and of course the practice your own maneuvers and optimize your boat speed.. The sun will be shining all day, no rain expected and a nice north easterly wind. The waves are low and the looks friendly. Around five o’clock the official opening of the Stena Line F18 worlds 2005 will happen in the tent.
