DAY 2 AT NOON
A great day for sailing! Nice low surf and excellent wind force 3 to 5 with gust to 6.
All sailors where early on te beach preparing for the first official races. The race committee promised to have a starting line as close to the beach as possible. Still around noon a fishing boat managed to do his work between the beach and the fleet. No problems so far except maybe for some sailors coming back to the beach for minor repairs. The first real victim of a situation was Vincent Huntelman and Herwin van der Kamp. Right after the start of the first race they moved to port had to avoid Carolijn Brouwers amongst others and had a collision that left the Dutch Team with damage to the left hull. Repairs where made on the beach with various materials like pieces of plastic bucket an bow stickers. Still they have to ask redress for all of today’s races. The wind is picking up some more now.
