Newsletter 1 ‘The countdown has begun’

Dear Sailing enthusiast,

Welcome to the first newsletter, we will keep you up-dated with all facts and developments concerning the F18 Worlds 2005. The organization of this great event is in full progress as we speak. We hope you will enjoy this runner-up towards "The Worlds!!"

Location:

Hoek van Holland "the sunniest seaside place of the Netherlands" is situated on the Nieuwe Waterweg, one of the most interesting stretches of the European coast. Hoek van Holland has everything to offer for an enjoyable weekend break or a relaxing or active holiday. Breathing fresh sea air, wide beaches, cycling or walking through the countryside or the magnificent view over the dunes and the Nieuwe Waterweg, Hook of Holland has endless possibilities. Due to the protection of the port that lead to the Nieuwe Waterweg, the beaches of Hoek van Holland are well protected against high tides. Therefore Hoek van Holland is one of the best sailing locations of the Netherlands. Flat water with a sea breeze provides an excellent mix for high speeds and lots of sailing fun.

Beach site

The event will be located on the beach of Hoek van Holland, on the beach site there will be a great interaction with the sailing activities on the water. There will be an opportunity to watch the matches from a stand on the beach. With a live DJ, lounge-chairs and a Pitt-lane promenade the atmosphere will be very pleasant for supporters and sponsors to experience a world-class event. After the races the boats will be placed in front of the promenade where everybody can chill after the races and eat, drink for a bargain. Isn't this beach-life atmosphere the ultimate live?

For the Supporters

'No supporters no fame' supporters play a key role during sport events. They are your most loyal fans and without them nobody would ever become a world champion. Team F18 worlds 2005 made up a very special activity plan just for them. As you could read above there will be allot of activity on the beach site, but that’s not all! There will be the opportunity to subscribe for day trips to one of the biggest harbors of the world 'Rotterdam' where there is the opportunity to shop or look at their famous architectural sites. Or visit cities like The Hague or Amsterdam. Need more action? There is the opportunity to learn Kitesurfing, bike through the beautiful dunes. Are you more into nightlife? There will be a list of famous bars, nightclubs and parties. In brief, for every supporter there is enough to do. 'Sailors… we will take care of your glory and fame!'
